Acute Intestinal Obstruction with Asearis Mass

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of acute intestinal obstruction with adult ascaris mass in 10 year old girl is reported, which was treated by surgical removal of the ascaries at the Department of Surgery, Chonnam University Hospital.
There were several hundred adult worms in the intestine that were varied in, size of from the largest 30X1.2cm. to the smallest 5X0.3cm.
A brief review of the literatures in regard of the characteristic clinical manifestation and treatment of the disease was made.
